A Word from the President

I am delighted to inform you today that the WFSBP Guidelines for Pharmacological Treatment of Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and Posttraumatic Stress Disorders – First Revision have been published in the recent volume of the World Journal of Biological Psychiatry.

With this comprehensive manual which includes numerous recommendations the WFSBP aims to provide up-to-date treatment options and thus to further improve treatment for patients world-wide and to spread knowledge also in countries with limited continuing education possibilities. The presented Guidelines are a revision of the publication in the year 2002. I wish to thank Joseph Zohar, Chair, and Borwin Bandelow, Secretary of the WFSBP Task Force on Anxiety Disorders and OCD, and the entire taskforce for their superb work. I especially thank Hans-Jürgen Möller, chief editor of the World Journal of Biological Psychiatry for his dedication to develop WFSBP Treatment Guidelines. Thus we are planning to present you further WFSBP Treatment Guidelines in the course of the coming year.

As with all WFSBP Treatment Guidelines and Consensus Papers, they are made available as free download on the official website www.wfsbp.org!

I am sure you will find lots of useful and inspiring information in the new issue of the World Journal of Biological Psychiatry vol. 9(4). It is now available as download in the Members Only section at www.wfsbp.org! Use your personal login data to log into the Members Only section right away to read through the newly published articles.

Sincerely yours,

Siegfried Kasper, MD
WFSBP President
