A Word from the President

On behalf of the WFSBP Executive Committee I wish you and your family all the best for the upcoming holiday and a happy and prosperous New Year 2009.
 
The year 2008 has been a successful one for the WFSBP with two new WFSBP Treatment Guidelines published in the World Journal of Biological Psychiatry: Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and Posttraumatic Stress; and Alcoholism. All published Treatment Guidelines are available online for free download at www.wfsbp.org.
 
The 9th World Congress of Biological Psychiatry in Paris, 28 June – 2 July, 2009 is rapidly taking shape. The Scientific Committee has compiled an outstanding, high quality scientific programme. Please visit the website www.wfsbp-congress.org for a download of the 3rd Announcement which includes all details on the scientific programme. Further you will fin on the website videos of the WFSBP President and the organisers of the congress (please click on “Home” and “Scientific Content”).
 
Please note the deadline for abstract submission for Free Communication/Posters/Young Scientists’ Award Sessions: 28 January 2009, all further information is to be found on the congress website. We look forward to receiving your proposal!
 
On this occasion it is my pleasure to announce the 10th World Congress of Biological Psychiatry in Prague, Czech Republic, 29 May – 2 June, 2011. We would like to introduce the host society, the Czech Society of Biological Psychiatry and its President Prof. LadislavHosak. The WFSBP looks very much forward to a successful congress and an ongoing positive collaboration with the National Societies.
